X Clean Link ("the Extension") is committed to absolute privacy. The extension is built with a zero-telemetry, zero-data-collection design philosophy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, log, transmit, or sell any personal or identifying information.
• We do not track or monitor your browsing activity or search history.
• We do not transmit any data to external servers, cloud databases, or analytics platforms.
• We do not use third-party cookies or advertising trackers.

3. Local Processing & Telemetry

• Offline Sanitization: All link parsing, tracker removal, and redirect unwrapping occur 100% locally on your computer using pure client-side code.
• Local Storage: chrome.storage.local is used strictly on your device to remember your interface preferences (e.g. chosen embed proxy or toast notification toggle) and to display a local counter of trackers blocked.
• Anonymous Telemetry (Optional): To measure reliability and usage trends, the extension may transmit anonymous, non-identifying events via Google Analytics 4 (e.g., number of trackers stripped, extension version). No URLs, search queries, or personal data are ever recorded or transmitted. You can disable this anytime via the extension Settings toggle.

4. Permissions Usage

• storage: To save local user preferences on your computer.
• contextMenus: To provide the "Copy Clean Link" option when right-clicking links.
• activeTab & scripting: Used exclusively when clicking the context menu to copy the clean URL to your clipboard.
